Vessel Planning

Vessel Planning

This term refers to vessel operations sequence management and includes monitoring and executing all load/unload cargo and vessel operations within a terminal (or a port).

The main goal of vessel planning is to achieve the most efficient way of arranging vessels to prevent traffic problems or delays in the working schedules. Moreover, it helps organize such working processes as the execution of load/unload operations (which helps to ensure the safest conditions to the terminal staff and improve work queue execution).

Pre-plan and ongoing check-in processes help improve the vessel allocation according to the port's schedule.

Vessel planning is one of the primary TOS (Terminal Operating System) modules. The TOS is responsible for containers and vessels task sequence planning. In addition to that, the Terminal Operating System takes the structure, characteristics and available stowage free space into account to offer the best placement variations for each vessel.
