Verified Gross Mass Message (VERMAS) is a newly developed EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) method. It's made for the SOLAS directive, which requires constant transmission of gross weight information between carriers and export containers.
VERMAS contains all legally required data according to the SOLAS Convention that helps submit the container's verified gross mass and provides necessary supporting information for carriers, freight forwarders and shippers. Ports and vessels utilize VERMAS throughout the transportation processes. All in all, Verified Gross Mass Message is an integral part of the shipping process that facilitates vessel planning.
