QC (Quay Crane)
Quay Crane (also called Container Handling Gantry crane or Ship-to-shore) is a large dockside crane, located at container terminals. It is used for loading and unloading intermodal containers from the vessels.
Quay Cranes are very effective due to their carriage capacity. However, they aren’t too flexible in deployment, since they use rails along the quayside for movement. They usually transport one container per lift, but some newer models can lift up to four standardized (20-foot) containers at once.
